Origin: The Daltons were the outlaw foils in the Lucky Luke western strip drawn by Belgian artist Morris (also known as Maurice De Bevere) who used real-life and fictional Wild West characters such as Calamity Jane and Billy the Kid in his stories of do-gooder Lucky Luke. In 1955 Morris was joined by Rene Goscinny (better known for the Asterix cartoon books). |
